The University of Cape Town (UCT) requires an application fee to be paid along with each online application. The specific fees for applying to UCT are as follows:

Prospective Students must Note

  • The application fee cannot be refunded. Your application will not be accepted simply because you paid the application fee.
    Cash, credit card, direct bank deposit, or electronic funds transfer (EFT) are all options for paying the application fee. The Cashiers’ Office, Kramer Building, Middle Campus, UCT, requires cash payments.
    Online credit card payments are required.
  • EFT payments for all degrees/diplomas EXCEPT GSB must be made to the following account:

  • Except when applying for a GSB qualification from outside the SADC region, where payment must be made in US dollars, application fees must be paid in South African Rands.
  • Except for GSB qualifications, graduates of UCT do not have to pay an application fee.

Acceptance deposit

If you are accepted into one of the programs listed below at the Graduate School of Business, you will need to pay an acceptance deposit. Please note that at the University of Cape Town (UCT), there are no other programs that require acceptance deposits.

The non-refundable acceptance fee will be credited to your student fee account. When making the payment, make sure to include your newly assigned student number. The current acceptance fees are as follows: [Specific acceptance fee amounts should be provided.]

UCT Tuition fees

Every course taken by students at UCT entails a fee for tuition. The following are included in these course-specific tuition costs:

  • registration
  • all charges for classes, tutorials, and laboratories
  • ordinary university examinations
  • library access
  • compulsory personal accident insurance
  • the use of general sporting facilities
  • in the case of medical students, hospital fees for clinical instruction.

Note: Membership in clubs or societies is not covered by tuition fees.
