  • Instead of the traditional on-campus registration process, students will be required to register remotely using the PeopleSoft system well in advance of their return to campus. Detailed instructions on how to register with PeopleSoft will be provided in January. It is crucial to regularly check your UCT email account to stay informed about the registration process and any updates or announcements.

UCT Registration Dates

In December, the system will publish the results for the final academic year. On January 1, the results for the January supplementary, deferred, and summer term exams will also be made available to the public.

  • Between January 20 and January 28, 2022, returning students without any unresolved matters or missing results are required to complete their online registration.
  • From January 31 to February 3, students with outstanding results (those who took supplementary, deferred, or summer term exams) must complete their registration.

Important note

  • All students are required to register without delay, rather than waiting until their return to Cape Town. It is important to note that students who register late may be subject to a late registration penalty of R2000.
  • Clearance procedures, including visa verification, medical aid verification, and fee payments, will also be conducted remotely for international students. It is essential for international students to comply with the clearance requirements to ensure a smooth registration process.

Students with outstanding fees

  • Registration is contingent upon the settlement of your fee account. It is important to note that South African students can register without making an upfront deposit, while international students are required to pay before they can proceed with the registration process.
